Qualifications and Responsibilities of Google’s Application Engineer
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, another technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in programming with Java/J2EE and Web Services (e.g., RESTful/SOAP).
- Proficiency in implementing, configuring, customizing, and integrating third-party software solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in full-stack development with one or more of the following technologies: Application/Web Servers, JBoss/Tomcat, IIS-ASP.NET, JavaScript/AngularJS, Python, relational databases.
- Experience participating in a full software
- (e.g., analyze, design, build, test, implement, support).
- Strong understanding of information management, data modeling, system integration, development methodologies (including unit testing), and web technologies.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy applications, integrations, and web services that challenge the fundamental assumptions of IT operations.
- Integrate third-party products into internal systems, and provide support and upgrades to implemented systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams to define and implement solutions that enhance internal business processes.
- Create internal solutions with custom front-ends (e.g., web, mobile) and back-end services to automate business processes.
- Uphold the highest standards of development practices, including technical design, solution development, systems configuration, test documentation/execution, and issue identification and resolution. Write clean, modular, and self-sustaining code.
